EPILOGUE
The secret to life is a song.
Row, row, row – However long you think you’ll need to work at staying present so you can become who you are and create the life you imagined, trust me, it’s going to take longer. You’ll need to row and row and then row some more. Because when it comes to personal growth: No one said it would be easy; they just said it would be worth it.
…your boat – Stay in your own boat. Let other people worry about their boats. Those boats probably have lots of leaks that you don’t know anything about. If you focus on your boat, at least you’ll find out where the holes are and how fast you need to bail.
…gently – Cut yourself as much slack as you can when learning anything new. The first try at anything is always bad. Stay out of could of, would of, should of on your past efforts. Be gentle with yourself and go gently in your life. Just like a boat floating.
…down the stream – Remember that there is a stream and it flows in a particular direction. It generally doesn’t flow in precisely the direction you want it to, but going with the current is always a whole lot easier than fighting it. So pay attention to where the current is trying to take you and go with the flow.
…merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily – Life really is not a dress rehearsal. This is your chance to create something that works for you. If it’s not working, only you know that and only you can fix it.
…for life is but a dream – Because each individual’s beliefs in the present moment create what we know as life. Basing those beliefs on trust rather than on fear is the key to creating the life of your dreams. I’m dreaming up something that works for me; you go dream up something that works for you.
